Unfortunately she has had to have surgery this week to repair a displaced patella and torn cruciate ligament. She has a long road in front of her to get back to her crazy self. Unfortunately Margos vet bills to date is 1200 euros which will be funded by Barkinside. I am doing a sponsored walk of 100 miles in the first 3 weeks of March, (between 1st and 21st of March), with the aim of raising the amount needed to cover Margos vet bills. The walks will be varied including steep mountain hikes. I will record each walk/hike using Strava and publish the strava stats after each one. Help me to help Jaquie and Barkinside continue their vital work in helping Margo and many other dogs who find their way to Barkinside. We always have over 30 dogs in our care and others coming in every week. We are lucky to have a good homing rate. The more we home the more we can save. She is 9 months old and has a serious problem with her hips. There are courses of action we can take and we have consulted with our vets before I made the decision to help her. Her family are unable to cope and the original breeder has offered only one option! Not happening. She will be with us next week. Today, at around 1pm (16th of March 2024) everyone's hero, the spectacular being that we all came to know and love as "Noble" came up against something so big that no one, not even he or his Mum, the amazing powerhouse behind this organisation, Jacqueline, could beat. Noble In Loving Memory 2019-2024 Today, at around 1pm (16th of March 2024) everyone's hero, the spectacular being that we all came to know and love as "Noble" came up against something so big that no one, not even he or his Mum, the amazing powerhouse behind this organisation, Jacqueline, could beat. This was the message that greeted us all online today, from his grief stricken friend, mum and rescuer at Barkinside. "I don't know where to start. How do I tell you all. How do I even begin.. This morning, our hero, our lion, our magnificent Noble left us. He went into acute kidney failure and there was nothing I could do this time to save him. The only reason I know I am alive is because I am still breathing. I decided to let him go with Grace, with so so much love, with Peace. I held him, told him how much I loved him, how you all loved him, how we would be together again. That he can run with Oscar, Louis , Nina, Munchkin, Beti, Lola, Spartan and all the most beautiful souls, no longer in this realm. Yes, I am sobbing , my heart is broken. But I had the absolute joy of having this beautiful boy in my life, even for far to shorter time. I held him. And he knew only love. Run free my Angel, Sleep well sweet Prince, till we meet again." 1/1 NB: Please note. The pictures below are of Noble when he was first rescued by Barkinside. His whole life he had been the innocent victim of abuse, these pictures reflect that. Of new beginnings and a complete change in life choices. One simple idea changed my life again this year and in doing so, with your help changed and saved the lives of many. Thanks to you, my friends, supporters and guides. Barkinside is working better than ever and helping so many. “So much more, still to come. I truly did not think I would be sharing these photos of Josefe and Noble under the Christmas tree. They are alive because of you and your faith in me. Because of my faith in me and in my amazing vets. We have saved many lives this year. Many beautiful souls now have families.
