100 MILES IN MARCH FOR MARGO

Margo is being fostered by us from Barkinside Sanctuary.
Margo is a beautiful, blind 2 year old girl, nicknamed 'Mad Margo' as she has an abundance of energy and despite being blind is always getting into mischief!
Unfortunately she has had to have surgery this week to repair a displaced patella and torn cruciate ligament. She has a long road in front of her to get back to her crazy self.
Unfortunately Margos vet bills to date is 1200 euros which will be funded by Barkinside.
I am doing a sponsored walk of 100 miles in the first 3 weeks of March, (between 1st and 21st of March), with the aim of raising the amount needed to cover Margos vet bills.
The walks will be varied including steep mountain hikes. I will record each walk/hike using Strava and publish the strava stats after each one.
Help me to help Jaquie and Barkinside continue their vital work in helping Margo and many other dogs who find their way to Barkinside.
If you would like to sponsor me you can give directly to me, I will be in the UK end of Feb and again in April if my UK friends want to give me sponsorship.
You can donate directly to Barkinside, please add reference '100 Miles in March' so I can keep tally of how much raised.
Please feel free to share with friends to reach as many people as possible.
Let's do this for Margo!
Thank you all so much
Barkinside, run by our dear friend Jaquie, does not receive any funding and relys solely on fundraising. Barkinside focus on rescuing abandoned, elderly and disabled dogs in our area. Many of these dogs come in traumatised, sickly, disabled and need specialised, loving care back to health, those that cannot be rehomed will live out their lives with Jaqui in the Sanctuary.

Barkinside Babies, Residents and those looking for homes
If you would like to Sponsor any of our rescues you would help us greatly.
Our spending on food, vets bills, special dietary requirements, medical care is a huge monthly expense and we are in a constant struggle with it daily.
We always have over 30 dogs in our care and others coming in every week.
We are lucky to have a good homing rate. The more we home the more we can save.
All photos and information are current and are updated as often as we are able [as of today's date 12th June 2025]
The dogs below are either resident at Barkinside Sanctuary, with fantastic fosters or desperately looking for a family to love them.
We try to help any dogs we can, no matter of age, health, condition, or size.
Some of them have been here for a short time and sadly some longer.
Some will stay with us at the sanctuary for good.
Some of them are small and some large.
But they all just want to be loved.
They all have big hearts and are waiting to share them with families, or with us here.
They each have their own profiles or they are being created.
Please take a look and give those that can find a home a chance.
All dogs at the sanctuary have full medical and blood tests, full passport with innoculations and are sterilised or nuetured
If you are interested in adopting or fostering one of our babies please contact me as I would hate to miss any comments.
Thank you

Barkinside rescues dogs from the local area and throughout Spain. I also assist other rescues that need my help. if requested and am able. The sanctuary will take on any dog, no matter age, health, or condition. They will be cared for and rehabilitated, found homes or can stay here in our care for the remainder of their lives. We help dogs in the kill stations of Spain to find freedom and safety. We have local fosters who assist me in giving the rescues, homes and stability. We save dogs where we can who are deemed beyond help, to old, to sick, to injured, to mentally scarred/scared.
We are not a boarding kennels. We are not a protectora so we cannot legally pick up local stray dogs. For this service you should phone one of the local dog rescue charities Alma 622708013 or Hondon Valley Animal Rescue 676558432.
This website promotes those dogs in our care and gives regular updates on their progress and welfare. We also post photos and information on each dog and the daily life of the Rescue Centre and Sanctuary and the work we do here.
All of the work that goes on here is done by those with nothing but love in their hearts for the dogs and other rescues in residence.
Barkinside has a great support system within the dog rescue and local community without whom we could not carry on.

PLEASE NOTE
Due to our already huge workload, the additional preparation and work required to support our new fundraising Car Boot Fairs has meant we've had to rearrange visiting times at Barkinside.
They are Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 2pm.
Strictly by appointment only.
On Saturday's we are now busy preparing for the boot fairs, and making some time for ourselves on Mondays gives us breathing space and time to unload the van, vets etc.
Our working day averages 14 to 16 hours, with 36 dogs, horses, cats etc, so please be patient with us.
Up to date information on all Barkinside Events and Carboots, please click here or see below.
Our signal here in the mountains can be a bit iffy, so always best to WhatsApp message on 697122883 for contact or location information. You are always welcome to contact us anytime via the Barkinside Facebook Pages.
I will always help where I can, so please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
